EC&I Engineer

Overview

As EC&I Engineer in Warrington, you will contribute to nuclear sector projects by translating requirements into compliant electrical, control, and instrumentation designs. You’ll work within a cross-functional team to develop detailed specifications and diagrams, and you’ll collaborate with vendors to source equipment on schedule. You’ll apply industry standards (IEC 61513, IEC 61227, IEC 61508) to deliver safe, reliable systems. This role offers hands-on design, regulatory awareness, and impact on critical, high-tech environments.

Responsibilities

• Translate high-level requirements into detailed technical specifications compliant with IEC standards
• Create electrical, control and instrumentation designs including schematics, wiring diagrams and layouts
• Collaborate with vendors to source and manage equipment meeting technical specs and timelines

Key requirements

• ETAP and EPLAN proficiency
• Knowledge of grid codes, standards, and regulatory frameworks
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent military experience

• Strong documentation and reporting skills
• Collaborative mindset with vendors and cross-functional teams
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
• PLCs programming and fault-finding (Siemens, Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Schneider)
• SCADA/HMI development and commissioning
• Control panel design, wiring diagrams and schematics
