Head of Energy Management Solutions

Overview

As Head of Energy Management Solutions, you lead the Applications & Digital Team to deliver fit-for-purpose energy management applications. You’ll shape the domain strategy, roadmap, and architecture in collaboration with architects and IT leadership. You will drive delivery, governance, and risk-compliant operations while aligning with the broader IT strategy. The role offers impact across origination, trading, risk management, and operations, with a focus on continuous improvement and resilience. This is a senior, cross-functional role at the intersection of technology, energy operations, and business performance.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead the IT Applications & Digital team to ensure high service levels for development, maintenance, and continuous delivery
• Define and maintain the energy management solutions support model and out-of-hours support
• Own the applications strategy and roadmap for energy management / energy operations in collaboration with Solution and Enterprise Architects
• Collaborate with IT and business functions to meet SLAs and ensure compliant delivery
• Oversee compliant development and operation per internal processes and risk frameworks
• Manage project delivery, coordinating with PMs/Scrum Masters to allocate resources effectively
• Contribute to IT strategy, budgeting, governance, and controls
• Manage relationships with external suppliers for delivery and performance
• Develop and maintain Disaster Recovery services and testing aligned with Business Continuity
• Establish procedures, monitoring, and reporting for service levels and compliance
• Regularly review applications to ensure alignment with business processes and external changes
• Pursue improvements to increase business effectiveness through better systems and processes
• Identify and evaluate emerging technologies to keep systems current and reduce obsolescence

Key requirements

• Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science (essential)
• Experience leading energy management or similar enterprise applications
• Strong technical leadership and architecture oversight
• Experience with IT strategy, budgeting, governance, and risk management
• Disaster recovery and business continuity experience
• Project/portfolio management exposure (PRINCE2 or similar desirable)
• Knowledge of relevant standards and risk frameworks
