Overview

In this Civil Engineer role, you contribute to delivering high-profile water infrastructure projects for UK and international clients. You work within a multidisciplinary Water team to design, assess, and deliver potable and wastewater solutions that enhance communities. You’ll engage in feasibility, outline and detailed designs, and field visits to translate concepts into real-world outcomes. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineers, hydraulics modellers, environmental scientists and specialists to deliver impactful water solutions
  • Perform technical and feasibility studies for potable, foul, surface water and attenuation needs with detailed calculations
  • Involve in all design stages from feasibility to detailed design, including reports and technical specifications
  • Conduct numerical analyses using advanced software to evaluate water and wastewater systems
  • Design water infrastructure components (treatment plants, pumps, pipelines) with safety-focused documentation
  • Gain on-site experience through site visits and project implementation
  • Potentially mentor junior team members and contribute to project and client management
  • Support growth of project delivery and technical excellence within a dynamic local team

Key requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience in the water sector working for a consultancy
  • Experience in engineering assessments, options appraisals, calculations and/or economic appraisal
  • Working towards chartership or incorporated status (e.g., ICE, CIWEM)
  • Experience in outline and/or detailed design, preferably wastewater/water treatment or flood risk/drainage schemes
