Overview

In this role, you lead Finance Governance, Control Testing and Supplier Management within the Finance Chief Control Office to strengthen non-financial risk controls across Group Finance. You will drive the Resetting Risk framework, deliver data-led risk insight and enhance supplier governance with senior stakeholders. You’ll shape executive risk reporting, oversee control optimisation, and develop a high-performing team in a collaborative, values‑driven culture. This position offers breadth, visibility and impact across Group Finance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead on Control Improvement, Risk Reporting, and Supplier Coordination across Group Finance
  • Drive the implementation and embedding of the Resetting Risk framework
  • Shape Finance executive risk reporting with data-led insight for decision making
  • Lead control optimisation initiatives to simplify and improve control environments
  • Provide review and challenge to Finance Risk and Control Owners
  • Strengthen supplier governance and oversight for Finance-owned suppliers
  • Build relationships across Finance, Risk and FCCO to improve consistency
  • Lead and develop a high-performing, inclusive team

Key requirements

  • Strong experience with Non-Financial Risk, controls, audit or governance in finance or large organisations
  • Understanding of risk management frameworks in a first-line environment
  • Proven experience in control design, optimisation, testing and monitoring
  • Ability to translate risk information into clear executive governance reporting
  • Experience in supplier risk management or third-party governance
  • Strong judgement and ability to challenge senior Risk and Control Owners
  • Proven people leadership and ability to build an inclusive team
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Desirable professional qualification in risk, audit or accountancy (not essential)
