Health Safety and Wellbeing Advisor

Overview

In this role you will support the delivery of UK HSW strategy and related action plans, promoting a positive safety culture across projects. You will assist in reporting, risk assessment, and incident investigations to ensure compliance with UK HSW standards and the BMS. You will collaborate with project teams to tailor risk-based SLAs, perform site inspections, and provide expert safety contributions to bids and proposals. This position offers meaningful impact on safety and sustainability across high-stakes construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of UK HSW Strategy and Zero Harm Action Plan
• Contribute to Sustainability Action Plan at project level
• Assist delivery of HSW KPIs at project/business level
• Support work winning with HSWS responses for bids and PQQs
• Investigate accidents, incidents and near-misses per Group Standards and BMS
• Develop local risk-based Service Level Agreements with projects
• Conduct regular site inspections and document through Project Portal
• Prepare formal HS&W reports and monitor compliance with Regulatory Framework and BMS
• Ensure HS&W data is available and reportable monthly to client
• Conduct risk-based health and safety risk management checks

Key requirements

• Relevant health and safety qualifications
• Willingness to travel
• Experience of complex construction and civils projects
• Ability to influence and promote a positive HS&W culture
• Competence in incident investigation
• Strong understanding of UK Health and Safety Regulatory Framework and HS&W BMS
• Ability to prepare formal written HS&W reports
• Ability to undertake project planning and project management
