Overview
In this role you will provide specialist psychological assessments and interventions for young people with neurodevelopmental conditions within a supportive, multi-disciplinary CAMHS team. You will contribute to both the Neurodevelopmental Team and ADHD pathway, delivering evidence-based care and leading service development initiatives. The role blends direct clinical work with quality improvement and cross-agency collaboration to support diverse families. This is a hybrid post with an emphasis on autonomy, professional reflection and impact on service quality.
Responsibilities
- Provide evidence-based assessments and interventions for young people with neurodevelopmental disorders (LD/ASC/ADHD)
- Contribute to the established group programmes and clinical pathways (e.g., sleep/behaviour groups, ASC assessment clinic)
- Lead on service development and quality improvement projects within the ADHD pathway
- Offer consultation to CAMHS colleagues and schools, and work with families and carers
- Engage in multi-disciplinary team work and cross-agency collaboration
- Ensure robust risk assessment and crisis management
- Maintain professional appraisal, audit and reflective practice to demonstrate accountability
Key requirements
- Postgraduate Doctorate in Clinical Psychology; HPC registration
- CAMHS experience or relevant transferability to CAMHS/LD/ASD services
- Experience with specialist assessments and treatments for LD/ASD and challenging behaviours
- Experience in ADHD assessments and risk assessment/risk management
- Experience with children, young people and families in emotional crisis and complex networks
- Knowledge of safeguarding, and ability to work across multi-ethnic communities and with interpreters
