Overview
In this role you act as a trusted adviser in employee relations within a regulated environment, handling complex ER cases and shaping People policies. You will partner with leaders to balance legal, policy, and business needs while contributing to wider People initiatives. The role sits in a newly formed People Business Partnering team, offering scope to broaden remit as the function evolves. You’ll work closely with managers and stakeholders to drive fair outcomes and risk-aware decisions. This is a London-based, permanent, hybrid opportunity with a focus on impactful ER work that supports organisational strategy.

Responsibilities
- Manage complex disciplinary, grievance, performance, absence and workplace conflict cases
- Provide expert employment law, policy and best-practice advice
- Coach managers to build ER capability
- Support investigations and recommend fair, balanced outcomes
- Review and develop People policies and procedures
- Identify emerging people risks through data and insight
- Support organisational change and liaise with unions or employee representatives
- As the People Partnering model grows, contribute to wider People initiatives and strategy
Key requirements
- Significant Employee Relations experience managing complex, high-risk ER cases from start to finish
- Deep expertise in disciplinary, grievance, performance, absence management, workplace conflict and employment law
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and ER best practice
- Experience in financial services, professional services, or regulated environments
- Confident coaching, influencing and challenging managers and senior stakeholders
- Experience developing People policies and supporting organisational change initiatives
- Commercial mindset with ability to balance technical ER advice with business needs
- Immediately available or notice period ≤ 1 month
