Housing Maintenance Officer
Rate: £18.09 per hour
Hours: 37 hours per week
Working hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm
Start date: Immediate
Location: Horsham, with 2–3 days per week office-based
Own vehicle: Required for occasional property visits
We are seeking an experienced Housing Maintenance Officer to join their Property & Facilities team on an interim basis. The successful candidate will support the Property & Facilities Manager with the delivery of repairs and maintenance across approximately 60 residential properties used for temporary accommodation, affordable accommodation and resettlement accommodation.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Property & Facilities Manager with the delivery of repairs and maintenance, ensuring works are completed on time and to a high standard.
- Monitor and supervise contractors undertaking repairs and maintenance, ensuring works meet required safety, certification and quality standards.
- Check completed works before invoices are approved, ensuring costs are in line with agreed budgets.
- Provide advice and guidance on matters such as property alterations and rechargeable repairs in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with Housing and other Council departments to improve performance and deliver a consistent service.
- Carry out inspections of vacant properties to meet the requirements of the Council’s insurers.
- Prepare schedules of work for larger repair projects.
