Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council’s Bereavement Services team is responsible for the operation of Stourbridge and Gornal Wood Crematoria, together with the Borough’s eight cemeteries. We are seeking a committed and professional person to join our busy and dedicated team. In this varied role, you will provide administrative support across all areas of Bereavement Services, assisting with matters relating to burials, cremations and memorials. You will also be responsible for responding to enquiries from members of the public and funeral professionals, ensuring a high standard of customer service at all times. Based across our offices at Gornal Wood and Stourbridge Crematoria, this position offers an opportunity to work within a rewarding service that provides support to families at a sensitive and important time.
Have experience of working in a busy office environment.
- Possess excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Be confident dealing with members of the public in a professional and compassionate manner.
- Have experience of carrying out a range of administrative duties.
- Demonstrate good IT skills and the ability to work accurately with a variety of systems.
- Hold a minimum of four GCSEs (or equivalent qualifications), including English Language.
A sensitive and empathetic approach is essential, as you will be working within a service that supports bereaved families. You will be organised, reliable and able to manage a varied workload whilst maintaining high standards of accuracy and confidentiality.
