Join Stantec’s UK energy team as a Principal/Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design across diverse projects. You’ll guide feasibility, concept design, construction and commissioning, shaping substations, transmission, protection and control systems. Responsibilities
- Lead electrical design of projects including generators, control/instrumentation, protection, substations and transmission lines
- Perform design, modeling and analysis of electrical/electronic systems for feasibility and compliance
- Oversee feasibility studies, concept design, construction and commissioning activities
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
- Collaborate with civil, mechanical and other disciplines for integrated project design
- Produce and interpret design drawings and documents (SLDs, line diagrams, load schedules, specifications, reports)
- Engage in collaborative design reviews and workshops with clients and teams
Key requirements
- Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status (IET)
- Experience in energy sector preferred; other sectors useful
- Experience producing/interpreting design drawings and documents (SLDs, line diagrams, block cable diagrams)
- Ability to perform equipment sizing, fault rating calculations, load schedules, and technical reports
- Strong communication skills for client presentations and workshops
- Proven ability to lead and mentor engineers and collaborate across disciplines
