We are looking for a professional and experienced Security Duty Shift Manager to lead the security team and oversee the safe and efficient operation of the estate. You will manage day-to-day security operations, respond to incidents and emergencies, support your team, and ensure high standards of security, compliance and service are maintained.

This role offers a 4 on 4 off pattern, 19:00-07:00.

Key Accountabilities

  • Maintain a safe and secure estate by identifying risks, responding to threats and taking appropriate action to protect people, property and assets.
  • Manage and respond to security incidents, emergencies, fire alarms and evacuations, following agreed procedures and escalating to emergency services or management where required.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the Security Control Room, ensuring systems, communications, documentation and logs are accurate, up to date and professionally maintained.
  • Monitor security, fire and CCTV systems and ensure relevant information is communicated promptly to the appropriate teams.
  • Lead and support the security team during shifts, allocating duties and patrols, monitoring attendance, breaks, uniform and performance, and ensuring all posts are appropriately covered.
  • Conduct regular briefings, toolbox talks, safety checks, audits and training exercises, ensuring procedures and standards are consistently followed.
  • Monitor patrols, loading bay and post room operations, ensuring required checks, records and reports are completed accurately and issues are followed up.
  • Conduct investigations and prepare timely, accurate reports on incidents, accidents, complaints, system issues and other security matters.
  • Use MyTAG and other available systems to review, process and report information as required by Security Management and Estate Management.
  • Act as a first point of support for security officers, providing guidance, resolving issues and escalating matters to the Security Supervisor or Manager when necessary.
  • Promote high standards of professionalism, integrity, communication, teamwork and customer service, dealing with queries and conflicts calmly and effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with assignment instructions, emergency procedures, data protection, CCTV requirements, health and safety standards and all relevant site policies.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties required by the Security Manager, Supervisor or Client to support the smooth and effective operation of the estate.

The Successful applicant will require

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience within a security environment.
  • Practical experience of the application of emergency preparedness and emergency response procedures.
  • Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Familiar with Access Control & CCTV systems.
