Senior AI Governance Manager

Overview

In this role you will lead AI governance efforts for top UK organisations, shaping responsible adoption and regulatory alignment. You will drive governance across the AI lifecycle, influence senior leaders, and help grow a dedicated AI Governance & Trust practice. You’ll translate regulation and ethics into practical policies, controls, and operating models. This role combines strategic consulting, client leadership, and mentoring to deliver high-impact outcomes in a hybrid, client-facing environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver AI governance strategies translating regulatory and ethical requirements into practical frameworks, policies, controls, and operating models
• Implement governance processes across AI lifecycle (development, deployment, monitoring, assurance) with culture, communication and training
• Provide AI assurance expertise for AI, Generative AI, and Agentic AI solutions to meet standards
• Build and sustain relationships with senior stakeholders, influencing executive decisions and embedding governance across organisations
• Offer thought leadership on AI regulation and governance trends to prepare clients for future developments
• Contribute to business growth by leading proposals, developing client relationships, and identifying opportunities
• Shape and grow the AI Governance & Trust practice by developing propositions, methodologies, tools and thought leadership
• Mentor and develop colleagues to strengthen team capability and drive a high-performing consulting practice

Key requirements

• Extensive experience delivering AI governance, responsible AI or AI assurance programmes in a consulting setting
• Deep knowledge of AI governance, ethics, emerging regulation and industry standards with ability to create practical frameworks
• Understanding of AI and data solution lifecycles from design to monitoring
• Strong strategic thinking and ability to tackle complex governance challenges across people, process, technology and data
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management with experience influencing senior executives
• Proven track record leading client engagements, governance operating models and organisational change through training
• Experience identifying opportunities, winning bids, and growing client accounts
• Experience mentoring and developing high-performing consulting teams
• Desirable: experience with Generative AI, Agentic AI and emerging governance frameworks with thought leadership
