Clinical Adult Assessor – Watford

Nurses Occupational Therapists | Physiotherapists | Paramedics | Pharmacists

Hybrid roles across England

Full-time | Monday–Friday | 9am–5pm

No nights | No weekends | No bank holidays

We are looking for the following professionals:

  • Registered Adult Nurses
  • Mental Health Nurses
  • Learning Disability Nurses
  • Occupational Therapists
  • Physiotherapists
  • Paramedics
  • Pharmacists

You’ll need:

  • At least 1 year of recent post‑registration experience in a relevant adult setting
  • At least 1 year of active NMC or HCPC registration
  • Strong communication and assessment skills
  • Excellent report‑writing and typing skills
  • Good IT skills
  • The ability to work independently and manage your own caseload
  • Sponsorship is not available for these roles.

WCA Functional Assessor Starting at £50,000 Increases to £51,000 after 12 months (if performance objectives are met) plus eligibility for the bonus scheme (5–6 assessments per day – WCA assessments are shorter than PIP)

Roles are subject to availability and service requirements in each geographical area. Ideally, candidates should be open to either PIP or WCA. Where possible, we may be able to accommodate a preference, although this cannot be guaranteed.

What will you be doing?

  • Conduct telephone, video and face‑to‑face assessments
  • Explore how health conditions affect everyday activities and work
  • Review medical evidence and health questionnaires
  • Ask detailed questions about functional ability
  • Produce clear, accurate and objective reports for the DWP
  • Make recommendations based on your assessment findings

Full training provided

Training

Successful candidates will complete a comprehensive 12‑week training programme, covering:

  • Assessment techniques
  • DWP guidelines and requirements
  • Report writing
  • Functional assessment skills
  • Role‑specific training and support

You don’t need previous Functional Assessor experience — your clinical experience and transferable assessment skills are what matter.
