Overview
In this role you will lead technical transport planning for development projects in Edinburgh, working within a multidisciplinary team to shape transport strategies for commercial, retail and residential proposals. You will mentor Early Career Professionals and contribute to project leadership, while supporting business development. You’ll collaborate with highways, structures, environmental teams and clients to deliver transport assessments, travel plans and parking strategies. Responsibilities
- Lead technical transport planning input on development planning projects
- manage project delivery, budgets and resources on small to medium projects
- mentor Early Career Professionals and support professional development
- develop transport strategies, TA/Environmental Statements and parking strategies
- support business development through client engagement and networking
- collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams on complex multi-disciplinary proposals
- conduct traffic and junction capacity analysis using modelling tools
- prepare and review documentation for planning applications
- lead discussions with clients and project stakeholders
Key requirements
- significant post-graduate experience as Engineer/Transport Planner
- experience leading transport planning work (TA, Travel Plans, access and parking strategies)
- expertise in traffic flow information for TA/ES
- experience with junction capacity modelling software (Junctions 10, Linsig)
- project management experience on small to medium projects
- ability to supervise junction design concepts (priority, roundabout, signals)
- strong communication skills and client-facing confidence
- willingness to mentor others and share knowledge
- experience with Excel and Word
