In this role you will own the financial compliance backbone of a fast-scaling, multi-entity energy group and lead the tax structuring that increases value. You will manage group tax, external audits, compliance reporting, and corporate administration across multiple jurisdictions. You’ll shape the group’s structure—intercompany, financing arrangements, and entity footprint—to minimise tax leakage. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role with high autonomy and a direct impact on value and regulatory confidence.

Pay / Benefits

  • Bi-annual bonus scheme
  • Fully expensed tech
  • Paid annual leave
  • Breakfast and dinner allowance for office-based employees
  • High autonomy in a fast-growing energy company

Responsibilities

  • Proactively optimise the group’s corporate structure, intercompany agreements, financing and entity footprint to reduce tax leakage and maximise after-tax value as we scale and enter new markets
  • Lead group tax compliance across all entities, including corporation tax, VAT/sales tax, R&D credits, payroll taxes and indirect taxes across UK, US and other jurisdictions
  • Oversee transfer pricing and intercompany arrangements with external advisors to maintain current policy and documentation
  • Manage external audits end-to-end: planning, coordinating auditors, resolving queries and delivering statutory accounts across entities
  • Ensure compliance financial reporting: meet statutory, regulatory and filing obligations (Companies House, Ofgem, HMRC and US equivalents) on time
  • Manage the insurance programme by mapping risks and procuring/maintaining appropriate cover (PI, D&O, property, construction, liability)
  • Carry out corporate and general admin related to compliance: entity incorporation, company secretarial work, registrations and ad-hoc tasks for standing up a global group

  • Hands-on experience managing external audits and multi-entity statutory reporting
  • Solid knowledge of UK tax (corporation tax, VAT, payroll); exposure to US and/or international tax is a strong plus
  • Comfortable owning compliance in a fast, ambiguous environment without hand-holding
  • Highly organised, deadline-driven and detail-focused with good materiality judgement
  • First-principles thinker who builds clean processes, not just maintains them

  • Group tax structuring
  • Transfer pricing design and documentation
  • External audit management
