Overview

In-house Legal Counsel at FMG supports the business under the Senior Legal Counsel, focusing on drafting, negotiating and advising on commercial agreements while managing legal risk. You will work cross-functionally to advise on commercial and contractual issues that affect business outcomes. The role sits at the heart of FMG, contributing to risk reduction and strategic commercial decisions within a growing, multi-sector operation. This is an opportunity to apply legal expertise in a fast-moving environment within the Redde Northgate plc group.

Responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate commercial agreements, distribution agreements, supplier contracts, tenders, engagement letters, NDAs and licences
• Provide legal advice and support across the business on ad-hoc matters
• Manage and minimise FMG’s legal risk and liability exposure
• Collaborate with internal clients and external agencies to align legal and business objectives
• Support the business under supervision of Senior Legal Counsel
• Work autonomously and as part of a close-knit legal team in a pragmatic environment

Key requirements

• Commercial Contracts solicitor with NQ to ~5 years PQE
• Experience in drafting and negotiating contracts
• Knowledge of commercial transactions
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Customer-focused with ability to build internal and external relationships
• Ability to work autonomously and within a team
• Pragmatic in addressing legal and commercial issues
