Senior Planning Engineer – Construction

Overview

In this role you will join the project controls team on high-profile infrastructure projects to support performance reporting and analysis. You will help establish baselines, monitor progress and costs, and produce control reports for clients, influencing project decisions. The position offers interaction with cross-functional teams and exposure to major programmes in a global firm. You will contribute to delivering value through robust planning and reporting in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop work breakdown structures and robust performance baselines
• Establish progress and cost monitoring methods
• Produce project control reports and perform performance analysis
• Provide recommendations to clients based on analyses
• Coordinate with cost and planning engineers on planning activities
• Serve as day-to-day contact point with the client on large projects

Key requirements

• Numerate and computer literate
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with Primavera (P6)
• Familiar with Oracle and SAP and web-based project control tools
• Experience in Earned Value, progress updating, cost control, change control, baseline management, reporting
• Graduate in a relevant discipline with project controls experience
• Security clearance or ability to obtain/maintain it
• Experience in infrastructure projects (airports, rail, utilities or defence) is beneficial
