Overview
As Asset Group Strategy Manager you will lead a newly formed function within Asset Management to shape long-term investment strategies for the electricity transmission portfolio. You will work across Asset Management, Engineering and Operations to ensure decisions are evidence-based, balancing risk and value. The role involves guiding investment priorities, supporting regulatory submissions, and building confidence in funding decisions to sustain reliability and performance. This is a high‑profile leadership opportunity to transform how asset investments are developed and justified.

Responsibilities
- Develop long-term asset group strategies to drive cross-portfolio investments
- Build and lead a multidisciplinary team of asset managers and analysts
- Create risk- and value-based investment portfolios across asset groups
- Leverage asset data, lifecycle insights and analytical tools to prioritise investments
- Apply whole-life cost modelling and cost-benefit analysis for investment appraisal
- Own long-term asset intervention priorities and update plans with new information
- Prepare investment business cases and regulatory submissions with clear value-for-moneyJustification
- Foster senior stakeholder relationships across Asset Management, Engineering, Operations and regulators
- Provide assurance and transparency in investment decision-making processes
- Help shape the new strategic capability for asset investment decisioning
Key requirements
- Significant experience in asset management, asset strategy, or investment planning in asset-intensive sectors
- Strong understanding of risk-based asset management and whole-life cost and value optimisation techniques
- Experience developing business cases, investment justifications or regulatory submissions
- Strong commercial awareness with ability to balance performance, risk, cost and stakeholder outcomes
- Experience leading multidisciplinary professional teams
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills enabling influence at senior levels
- Degree in engineering, STEM, economics or related discipline, or equivalent experience
