Overview
In this Cost Manager role, you guide clients and project teams on cost management for iconic NE projects. You’ll partner with conservators, architects and engineers to secure best value for money across delivery stages. You bring construction knowledge from main contracting or PQS and collaborate openly to shape commercial solutions. This role combines financial rigour with project stewardship, contributing to high-impact real estate projects.
Responsibilities
- Assist on feasibility studies and procurement reports
- Estimate and cost plan, including final cost plan presentation
- Tendering and procurement management, including pre-qualification
- Manage post-contract cost variances and change control
- Perform cost checks and valuations on large projects with timely reporting
- Produce monthly post-contract cost reports and present to client
- Input into value engineering initiatives
- Negotiate and agree final accounts
- Interface with client and other consultants throughout project lifecycle
Key requirements
- Proven track record in cost management / quantity surveying across the full project lifecycle
- Ideally professionally qualified (RICS or similar)
- Degree or HNC level qualification
