- Apprentice Grade 01A-1: £26,686 (inclusive of Oxford Living Wage)
- Full time (36.5 hours / 1 FTE)
- This role also offers the opportunity for hybrid working. Majority of the working week on site working; Tuesday current team on site day.
- Our office location is the Medical Sciences Divisional Office, John Radcliffe Hospital, Headington, OX3 9DU.
About the Role
If you choose to become an apprentice at the University of Oxford, in the Medical Sciences Divisional Office, you will be joining a small HR team that are committed to supporting you in your journey to becoming a qualified HR professional.
You will be required to complete a 2 year training programme that will cover all aspects of the role and will be delivered through in-house training, as well as day-release or other distance learning methods delivered by Abingdon and Witney College (Abingdon campus). You will complete a Level 3 HR Support Apprenticeship and you will gain a Level 3 CIPD qualification. College attendance and successful completion of these studies is an essential requirement of this Apprenticeship.
The purpose of this role is to provide efficient and accurate HR support across the employee lifecycle. You will be handling day to day queries and providing human resources advice that covers the full employee life cycle – applying policies and procedures consistently. This is a varied and busy role covering a wide range of procedures around the recruitment, retention and development of staff in the Medical Sciences Division Office.

- Customer Service and Recruitment Administration:
- Act as the first point of contact for routine HR queries providing accurate, timely administrative support.
- Maintain accurate employee records and support payroll and casual worker processes throughout the employee lifecycle.
- Support the full recruitment administration and induction process.
- Compliance:
- Support with compliance checks by running monthly reports from the HR systems and completing relevent and required checks.
- Support the Divisional Academic HR Manager and HR Officers with adhoc requests and processes relating to Academic related work.
- Teamwork:
- Build strong, trusted relationships with the HR team, divisional colleagues and wider stakeholders, in order to facilitate smooth HR operations and foster a positive image of the university’s professional services

- Strong organisational, planning and attention-to-detail skills
- Flexibility to prioritise changing workloads and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and SharePoint
- Commitment to confidentiality, integrity and equality, diversity and inclusion.
- Educated to GCSE standard (English and Maths grade 4 or above) or equivalent
- Commitment and willingness to undertake professional development and training
