Security AI Operations Engineer

Overview

In this role you will oversee AI-assisted security workflows and HITL triage, bridging automated systems with human analysts. You will work with the Security Automation & AI Engineering team to manage HITL queues, maintain knowledge bases feeding models, and audit AI outputs to ensure accurate, safe investigations. You will also help drive the automation roadmap and demonstrate business value through AI-enabled security services. This is a hands-on, cross-functional position in a hybrid Belfast setting with meaningful impact on national security and customer outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Review and validate AI-generated enrichments and triage recommendations
• Dispatch and track investigations to Tier 2/3 analysts and consultants
• Serve as escalation point for AI or pipeline exceptions
• Curate and maintain runbooks, SOPs, threat intel, and product docs in Bedrock/OpenSearch
• Audit AI retrieval quality and document knowledge gaps
• Perform prompt and template maintenance and submit enhancement tickets to engineering
• Audit AI outputs against human benchmarks and track KPIs (MTTR, assignment velocity, adoption)
• Train analysts on prompt best practices and AI copilots
• Collaborate with Sales Engineering on POVs and customer value delivery

Key requirements

• Bachelor in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
• 3–5+ years in SOC/MSSP/ITSM or similar role
• 2+ years experience with AI/Gen AI-enabled tools or workflows
• Working knowledge of security operations, threat lifecycle, alert triage, WAF, API security, MITRE ATT&CK, NIST
• Experience with generative AI tools, prompt workflows, and enterprise ticketing/orchestration platforms (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow, PagerDuty, SOAR)
• Familiarity with AWS Bedrock, OpenSearch, CloudWatch, and related dashboards
• Strong technical writing for runbooks and SOPs
