Finance Manager (2+ years Post Qualification)

Overview

In this role you will oversee end-to-end finance operations for in-scope entities within a fast-growing, internationally focused trading business. You will lead monthly management accounts, balance sheets, and statutory reporting, partnering with senior stakeholders and guiding a team of assistant accountants. You will drive process improvements, automation, and robust controls, while coordinating audits and statutory filings. The position sits in the UK finance function reporting to the Financial Controller, with exposure to global entities and growth opportunities. This role offers impact in shaping finance for a global trading group.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end finance operations for in-scope entities
• Produce timely monthly management accounts, P&L, balance sheet, cash flow
• Review and challenge monthly accounts and supporting schedules
• Balance sheet reconciliation review and commentary
• Drive process improvements, automation, and controls
• Ensure statutory reporting deadlines are met (annual accounts, tax)
• Manage audit process with external auditors
• Lead and develop a team of assistant accountants
• Support the Financial Controller in UK finance leadership
• Identify improvements and contribute to finance projects
• Handle ad hoc duties as required

Key requirements

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent)
• First-time passes preferred
• 2:1+ from top-tier university
• Experience at a Top 10 audit firm or large international business
• Strong IT skills; accounting systems experience advantageous (SUN Systems, Workday Financials)
• Interest in the global economy
