CASS Safeguarding Technical Assurance Specialist

Overview

In this role you will help develop a high-priority service focused on embedding audit quality within the firm. You will collaborate with audit teams and senior technical colleagues to apply rigorous technical standards and coach others to improve processes. You’ll oversee regulatory areas like CASS and safeguarding, identify improvement opportunities, and drive risk-management initiatives. Responsibilities

• Develop a high-priority service to embed quality within the firm
• Challenge audit execution and document work in regulatory areas
• Coach teams to implement improvements in audit quality (CASS, safeguarding, regulatory assurance)
• Identify issues requiring firm-wide action and lead ad-hoc quality/risk initiatives
• Consider split role between technical specialist and managing CASS and safeguarding audits

Key requirements

• Experience in audit and/or audit quality control
• Experience of CASS and safeguarding audits and understanding of CASS rules
• Good understanding of FCA regulation across financial services
• Excellent analytical skills to assess large information and identify key issues
• Motivation and passion for audit quality and continuous improvement
• Willingness to work flexibly in a close-knit team or independently

• Clear communication of technical concepts
• Client-facing adaptability across sectors
• Creative thinking to improve audit quality
• Professional accountancy qualification (ACA, CA or ACCA)
• Technical role experience in professional services
• Strong IT skills including MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
