Overview

In this role you will lead technical service for the Affera mapping and ablation platform across UK, Ireland and broader EMEA. You will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and support customers, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful deployment and ongoing satisfaction. The position combines field service with deep technical expertise and communication to drive system uptime and performance. You will contribute to service process improvements and deliver training to partners and clinical teams, shaping how customers use advanced electrophysiology technology. This is a remote, travel-heavy role with a strong patient-focused mission at Medtronic.

Responsibilities

  • Perform site assessments, installations, inspections, verifications, corrective and preventive maintenance for Affera systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues to maximize system performance and uptime
  • Serve as the primary technical liaison for customers across the product lifecycle
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation and service records per regulatory and quality requirements
  • Collaborate with Clinical, Sales, Engineering, Production, Quality, and Field Service teams
  • Contribute to development and continuous improvement of service processes, procedures, and documentation
  • Develop and deliver technical training programs for distributors, partners, clinical teams, and customers
  • Support new product introductions via design transfer, launch readiness, and field feedback activities

Key requirements

  • Bachelor in Biomedical Engineering with field service experience in medical devices or other highly regulated industries
  • Experience servicing, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex electronic or electro-mechanical equipment
  • Experience installations, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenance in customer-facing environments
  • Fluent English, written and verbal
  • Ability to travel extensively throughout the United Kingdom, Ireland, and wider EMEA
