Occupational Health TechnicianLocation: North East and SunderlandSalary: £28,000.00 – £30,000.00Hours: 40 hours per week.
Join a Growing Occupational Health TeamWe are looking for a proactive and customer-focused Occupational Health Technician to join UKIM and support the delivery of high-quality occupational health services across a diverse client base throughout the UK.This is a predominantly remote and field-based role involving regular travel to customer sites and occasional work from our Mobile Screening Unit. You will play a vital part in delivering health surveillance programmes, wellbeing assessments, and occupational health services that help keep employees healthy, safe, and productive.Whether you are an experienced Occupational Health Technician or someone with a strong customer-facing background looking to develop a career in occupational health, we would love to hear from you.
The Role
As an Occupational Health Technician, you will be a key representative of UKIM on client sites, delivering a range of health surveillance and screening services while providing an exceptional customer experience.You will work closely with Occupational Health Advisors, Physicians, clients, and employees, ensuring services are delivered efficiently, professionally, and in line with clinical and operational standards.This is a varied and rewarding role that offers the opportunity to work across multiple industries while supporting the health and wellbeing of employees nationwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver health surveillance programmes including:
- Audiometry
- Spirometry
- Vision screening
- Health questionnaires
- Other agreed occupational health assessments
- Conduct Tier 1 and Tier 2 Hand-Arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS) assessments.
- Support the identification and management of workplace health risks and occupational hazards.
- Deliver health and wellbeing assessments, including:
- Blood pressure monitoring
- Height and weight measurements
- BMI calculations
- Waist-to-hip ratio assessments
- Accurately maintain confidential occupational health records and documentation.
- Ensure all occupational health equipment is maintained, calibrated, and fit for purpose.
- Escalate clinical concerns, abnormal results, safeguarding issues, or fitness-for-work concerns when required.
- Build positive and professional relationships with clients and employees.
- Work safely and professionally while travelling to and operating from client sites and mobile screening facilities.
- Contribute to service improvement initiatives and support the delivery of operational excellence.

Essential Skills & Experience
- Experience working in a customer-facing environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good IT and administration skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
- Professional and confident approach when interacting with clients.
- Willingness to travel extensively across the UK, including overnight stays when required.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Experience
- Occupational Health Technician experience.
- Occupational Health Technician qualification or willingness to work towards one.
- Experience delivering health surveillance programmes.
- Knowledge of health and safety principles.
- Previous healthcare, wellbeing, screening, or clinical support experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
