Management Accountant

London / Hybrid Minimum 2 days in the office Reporting to: Group Financial Controller

We’re looking for an ambitious and commercially minded Cost Management Accountant to join a growing Finance team.

This is a hands-on role with genuine ownership across cost accounting, month-end, budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting. You’ll work closely with department heads, helping them understand their numbers, identify cost drivers and make informed decisions.If you’re currently working in an SME or fast-paced environment, enjoy having a broad remit and want a role where your ideas and input are valued, this could be a great next step.

What you’ll be doing

• Own cost-related month-end, including accruals, prepayments, fixed assets and journals.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Deliver cost, spend and variance analysis with clear commentary.
• Prepare cashflow forecasts, budgets and management reporting.
• Business partner with department heads to understand spend and cost drivers.
• Support VAT, audit, AP and intercompany processes.
• Identify opportunities to improve controls, processes and reporting.
• Own the company card expenditure process through Spendesk.

About you

We’re looking for someone who is:

• Ambitious, curious and commercially minded.
• A confident communicator who enjoys working with non-finance teams.
• Comfortable taking ownership and working in a fast-paced SME environment.
• Strong technically, with experience across month-end, reconciliations, accruals and prepayments.
• Analytical, highly organised and detail-focused.
• Advanced in Excel and experienced with ERP systems; Xero is desirable.
• ACA, ACCA or CIMA part-qualified/qualified, or equivalent experience.
