Sr. Manager, Site Budgets and Contracts

Overview

In this role you will lead the creation and oversight of investigator site budgets for multiple trials, using Grants Manager and GrantPlan to deliver accurate IG budgets. You will partner with GCO, CROs, and Clinical Operations to enable timely site activation during SSU, informed by FMV benchmarking and internal/external data. You will influence budget planning, negotiate parameters, and manage amendments to support program goals. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role with direct impact on trial timing and financial governance.

Responsibilities

• Create and oversee site budgets for multiple trials within designated therapeutic areas.
• Provide upfront and ongoing strategic budgeting support to Clinical Operations teams.
• Develop FMV-based IG budgets using internal/CRO reference data and FMV benchmarks.
• Lead or contribute to IG budget negotiations and parameter setting in outsourced CRO models.
• Serve as lead POC for CRO site budgets, CTA/budget negotiations, and global budget alignment.
• Monitor KPIs (cycle times, SIV/site activation) to ensure adherence to timelines.
• Attend CTT and Moderna/CRO meetings when site contracts decisions are discussed.
• Act as primary contact for site contract/budget amendments and escalation of risks to prevent delays.
• Contribute to departmental processes, SOPs, and special projects as needed.
• Travel approx. 10% as required.

Key requirements

• Minimum 5 years in global investigator site budget creation and negotiations.
• Strong experience with Grants Manager and GrantPlan.
• Experience in CTA template negotiations and collaboration with Legal is a plus.
• Effective communication and collaboration with internal/external stakeholders (CDO, CRO, site personnel).
• Strong financial analysis and justification skills.
• Familiarity with outsourced CRO models and CTA/budget negotiations.
• Proficiency in MS Office with advanced Excel; ability to work with stand-alone systems.
• Attention to detail in managing large volumes of financial data; strong problem-solving and independent judgment.
• Team-oriented with ability to work in a matrix environment.
