Senior/Associate Project Manager – Defence (Construction)

Overview

You will drive delivery of large defence projects within our growing Real Estate team. You’ll manage design teams across RIBA stages, support capital project processes, and oversee programme, risk, and change management. This role sits in a collaborative, opportunities-driven environment focused on expanding defence sector accounts and delivering impactful outcomes for clients. You will work with cross-functional teams, uphold security requirements, and contribute to a fast-growing framework.

Responsibilities

• Manage design teams and coordinate delivery across RIBA work stages
• Oversee core project management tasks and governance for capital projects
• Facilitate programme planning, risk tracking, and change management
• Support large-scale defence projects within the Defence Sector Portfolio
• Engage with clients and stakeholders to ensure delivery quality and compliance
• Coordinate with contract and commercial teams on procurement and NEC3/4 arrangements

Key requirements

• SC level Security Clearance
• Strong client care and communication skills
• Willingness to travel with overnight stays
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with Common Data Environments
• APM Associate or equivalent
• Foundation level Project Management Qualification (PRINCE2, APMQ, etc.)
• Technical degree in Engineering or Earth Sciences
• Experience with procurement and public sector frameworks
• Experience with NEC3/4 PSC/ECC contracts (pre- and post-contract)
