Overview
As a Commercial Consultancy Manager in Mace’s Defence Business Unit, you steer pre-contract procurement and broader commercial activities across major defence programmes. You will shape strategies, tendering, evaluation and contract formation, working with senior stakeholders to deliver secure outcomes. This role offers building cross-functional collaboration, advancing governance, and contributing to national security infrastructure. You’ll have the chance to influence end-to-end commercial lifecycles and operate across the UK with SC clearance eligibility.

Responsibilities
- Prepare commercial strategies, business cases, contract documentation and tender packages
- Develop commercial strategies and manage stakeholders through to contract execution
- Deliver a diverse, inclusive, wellbeing-focused working environment
- Support delivery of key commercial assignments and business areas
- Provide strategic direction aligned with client and project objectives
- Manage activities across all stages of the MOD commercial lifecycle
Key requirements
- Experience producing tender and contract documentation
- Experience developing commercial and procurement strategies and running end-to-end tender processes
- Understanding of commercial and contract management principles, with familiarity of Defence Contracts and Public Sector Procurement
- Experience developing commercial governance procedures, processes and systems
- Knowledge/use of E-Sourcing and/or E-Evaluation systems
- Strong commercial and financial acumen
- Experience leading workstreams within large, multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to manage relationships with senior stakeholders
- Professional membership or progression toward CIPS, CCM or equivalent
- Willingness and eligibility to obtain UK security clearance (SC)
