Overview
In this role you serve as the go-to regulatory lawyer within a sophisticated in-house legal team for a leading global financial services organisation. You will provide UK and EU regulatory guidance and support strategic, commercial initiatives, including digital assets, across senior stakeholder groups. The role combines regulatory advisory with contract-level negotiations and cross-functional collaboration to navigate evolving financial services rules. You will shape regulatory strategy and help the business stay compliant while enabling growth.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal and regulatory advice to senior stakeholders across the business
- Advise on UK and EU regulatory matters (EMIR, MiFID II, CRD VI)
- Support strategic and commercial initiatives, including digital assets
- Act as the go-to regulatory lawyer for the organisation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on evolving regulatory areas
Key requirements
- Qualified lawyer in England & Wales or equivalent with 4+ years PQE
- Strong UK and EU financial services regulatory experience
- Strong commercial contract drafting, negotiation and advisory skills (advantageous)
- Experience using legal technology or generative AI tools (advantageous)
- In-house experience gained through a secondment or permanent role (advantageous)
