Overview

As M&E Compliance Manager, you will provide authoritative assurance across Imperial’s complex estate, focusing initially on the South Kensington campus. You will act as a technical authority for M&E and related assets, ensuring maintenance governance and compliance with legislation, OEM requirements and industry standards. You will oversee data-rich monitoring, performance analysis and escalation of non-compliance, shaping safety, resilience and reliability of critical systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to strengthen CAFM records, certification processes and PPM programmes, driving continuous improvement through technology-enabled governance. Responsibilities

  • oversee M&E maintenance compliance across a broad portfolio of assets (HVAC, electrical distribution, life safety, water hygiene, lifts, pressure systems, fire compartmentation)
  • develop and assure robust maintenance governance and governance documentation
  • ensure PPM schedules, statutory inspections, certification, asset information and CAFM records are complete and compliant
  • analyze performance data, identify risks and escalate non-compliance and overdue actions
  • develop and deliver clear performance, risk and assurance reporting for senior stakeholders
  • influence and train diverse teams, fostering a collaborative, compliance-first culture
  • utilize technology to strengthen assurance, including asset registers and CAFM systems, and support informed decision-making

Key requirements

  • experience in M&E maintenance, engineering compliance and technical assurance across a complex estate
  • track record of developing systems and using technology to deliver robust compliance management (PPM, statutory inspections, certification, asset registers, CAFM)
  • strong analytical skills and ability to produce high-quality compliance documentation
  • ability to produce clear, insightful performance and risk reporting for senior stakeholders
