Junior Systems Engineer Top Tier Hedge Fund

Overview

In this role you support a 150-user environment while collaborating with traders to keep the tech-enabled edge. You’ll split your time between resolving day-to-day infrastructure issues and delivering new developments, with exposure to latency, security, and exchange connectivity. You’ll work in a fast, collaborative setting next to high-caliber colleagues and quickly assume senior responsibility. This is a hands-on infrastructure role for someone who loves tinkering with tech and making a visible impact.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day support for a large user base
• Collaborate with traders to inform decisions through technology
• Troubleshoot a range of issues from desktop to backend infrastructure
• Work on latency, security, and exchange connectivity initiatives
• Balance 50% support with 50% project-based work
• Take ownership and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment

Key requirements

• 2:1 from a Russell Group University
• Windows 7, Windows 10, Office 365
• PowerShell or interest in automation
• Windows Server 2016
• SQL
• Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO, LAN/WAN, VPN
• Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 and 2010
