Divisional Finance Manager – Planning & Reporting

Overview

In this role you will shape the Trust’s financial strategy by leading the annual plan, budgeting and forecasting while liaising with the ICS planning agenda. You’ll oversee external financial reporting and ensure governance, timeliness and compliance. As a visible FP&A leader, you’ll drive the management accounts process and pursue finance transformation and new reporting systems. You’ll partner with clinical and operational leaders to evaluate financial implications of service changes, supporting sustainability and strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and delivery of the annual financial plan across the organisation and NHS England planning submissions
• Own and drive the forecasting process with robust analysis and scenario modelling
• Lead monthly external financial returns and ensure compliance with NHS England requirements
• Produce high-quality financial and management reports and translate complex data into actionable insights
• Lead the annual budget-setting process with budget holders and senior stakeholders
• Provide expert financial advice and challenge to operational and clinical leaders to strengthen accountability

Key requirements

• Full CCAB membership
• Minimum 2 years post CCAB qualification experience
• Experience leading plans and forecasts
• Experience delivering process improvements and change activities

• Strong collaboration with senior stakeholders
• Ability to challenge and influence at executive level
• Clear communication and presentation of complex information
• Advanced spreadsheet and financial modelling
• Analytical skills with data interpretation
• Experience with Microsoft Power BI or similar BI tools
