Property Services Operative

Overview

As a Cleaner at Portsmouth, you support facilities operations with a focus on cleaning 80% of the time and handling light maintenance tasks the rest. You will help maintain high standards across offices, labs, toilets, and kitchens while contributing to site operations and audit-related recordings. This role sits within a broader property team dedicated to secure, efficient site services. You’ll work with cross-functional colleagues in a mission-driven, security-conscious environment.

Responsibilities

• Clean internal areas across the site (offices, toilets, labs, kitchens)
• Deliver general service tasks (e.g., hanging notice boards, weekly shower flushes) and record for audits
• Maintain cleaning quality and standards to required levels
• Support site operations by resolving outstanding tasks or deliveries for customers
• Undertake light, non-cleaning tasks as needed (low level maintenance, lift and shift, escorts)
• Provide flexible, robust support to the Property operations team
• Handle site-related duties in alignment with security and regulatory requirements

Key requirements

• Previous experience as a Cleaner
• Valid UK Driving Licence
• Eligible for SC security clearance
• Willingness to learn and adapt to a defence/technology environment
