Overview
In this role you will lead civil and bridge engineering deliveries, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget while mentoring junior teammates. You’ll design and manage bridges across the UK and overseas, support multi-disciplinary teams, and contribute to feasibility studies and cost estimates. The position sits in a collaborative, growth-focused environment within a diverse, global firm. You’ll have the chance to shape infrastructure projects for major clients and advance your Chartership ambitions.

Responsibilities
- Bridge design and assessment for UK and overseas projects
- Bridge management and strengthening/repair work
- General civil/structural engineering support to other teams
- Feasibility studies and options appraisals
- Preparation of documents, reports, health and safety risk assessments, scheme designs/drawings, feasibility studies and cost estimates
- Preparation of fee estimates
- Supervision of junior team members and CAD technicians
Key requirements
- Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer
- Experience in bridge design, maintenance and assessment on site and in design office
- Project management experience on bridge projects
- Knowledge of DMRB and MCDHW related to structural schemes
- Understanding and application of Eurocodes in bridge design
- Experience in design/assessment of steel, reinforced and prestressed concrete bridges
- Experience with grillage, space frame and finite element software (LUSAS, Superstress, SAM)
- Good communication and client handling skills
