Overview

In this role you will lead technical analyses and client engagements in the Thermal Sciences Practice, shaping failures investigations, risk mitigation, and product development. You’ll cultivate existing relationships, pursue new business, and guide multidisciplinary teams to deliver cutting-edge insights. Responsibilities

  • Lead projects for failure analysis and root cause investigations
  • Direct product development and expert witness engagements
  • Drive business development and nurture client relationships
  • Manage multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with other technical disciplines
  • Perform engineering calculations and analyses
  • Conduct laboratory experiments and analytical or computational modeling
  • Plan and execute testing programs
  • Prepare reports, proposals, and presentations
  • Travel domestically and internationally as required
  • Extract and convey technical conclusions to engineering, legal, business and industry stakeholders

Key requirements

  • Ph.D. or Master’s Degree in listed engineering fields
  • Practical and theoretical understanding of combustion, heat transfer and fluid mechanics
  • Proven experience generating business and managing client relationships with an established client base
  • Experience in technical consulting in areas like fires and explosions; product safety; risk assessment; fire protection engineering; plant engineering
  • Prior experience delivering expert witness testimony
  • Current Chartered Engineer (CEng)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate technical conclusions to diverse audiences
