Overview
In this Wealth Planner role within Barclays Wealth Management, you help clients shape their financial future through tailored planning and investment guidance. You will build trusted relationships with new and existing clients, translating goals into bespoke strategies aligned with risk preferences. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to deliver a seamless, planning-led experience that blends digital tools with adviser support. The position offers meaningful impact by expanding advisory reach and closing the UK Advice Gap.
Responsibilities
- Manage and grow client relationships while acquiring new clients and tailoring solutions to diverse needs
- Develop a solid understanding of client strategies through proactive engagement and responsive support
- Manage operational, reputational, financial crime and credit risk within the portfolio
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Barclays policies
- Collaborate with other functions/business divisions and provide advisory input to decision making
- Lead complex tasks and guide team members or collaborate on cross-functional projects
- Identify and implement risk mitigation measures and support policy/procedure improvements
- Analyze data from multiple sources to solve problems and communicate complex information to stakeholders
Key requirements
- Recognised financial planning qualification at RDR Level 4 or above
- Working knowledge of financial markets, products, and regulatory frameworks
- Ability to explain complex topics clearly to clients
- Proficiency with digital tools to support client conversations
- Strong risk awareness and high compliance standards
- Experience engaging with internal and external networks to grow client base
- Exposure to retail regulated products and asset management
- Familiarity with pensions, investment advice, and UK taxation
- Experience managing risk within a client portfolio
