Overview

In this role, you help welcome and support international students, ensuring a safe, connected home-away-from-home during their studies. You work within a cross-cultural setting to manage welfare, safety, and daily living aspects across evenings, weekends, and holidays. This position offers flexible hours, with potential live-in arrangements and pathway to full-time during peak periods. You will collaborate with staff to foster a warm, secure, and engaging residence experience that aligns with EF’s mission of opening the world through education.

Responsibilities

  • Greet new arrivals and brief on house rules
  • Assist with check-in and room allocation
  • Communicate departure procedures and dates
  • Maintain safety by addressing misconduct with staff
  • Conduct weekly room and facilities checks
  • Perform nightly curfew checks for under-18 residents
  • Provide or coordinate first aid support when needed
  • Assist residents with problems and inquiries
  • Report welfare issues to residence manager
  • Familiarize with fire safety and evacuation procedures
  • Ensure adherence to residence rules and escalate issues
  • Participate in on-call duties
  • Plan and run activities to foster a home-like environment
  • Deliver excellent customer service and support department goals

  • Able to stay calm under pressure and diffuse tense situations
  • Sensitive to the needs of international students
  • Excellent communicator with students and staff
  • Attention to detail, organized and thorough
  • Clear enhanced DBS check and two references
  • Legally eligible to work in the UK for duration of contract
