We have an opportunity within the Strategic Planning, Performance and Risk Team for a highly motivated individual to play a key role in supporting senior management and services across the Council. This is a challenging and rewarding role that sits at the heart of organisational decision-making, providing advice, analysis and support to ensure effective strategic planning, performance and risk management.

The role will provide support to the delivery, embedding and continuous improvement of the Council’s Strategic Planning and Performance Framework. You will work closely with services, senior managers and partners to support the development, monitoring and reporting of key strategies, plans, performance measures and risk profiles aligned to the Council’s strategic priorities.

Some of your duties will include:

- n
- Supporting the delivery and embedding of the Council’s Strategic Planning and Performance Framework by working as a trusted business partner with Services and key stakeholders.
- Facilitating and supporting the development of corporate, service and thematic strategies and service plans arising from legislation, policy change or new initiatives, working with internal and external partners.
- Supporting Services with the preparation, implementation and review of performance management frameworks, including the preparation and analysis of statistical and management information to inform operational and strategic decision-making.
- Providing strategic direction, guidance and training to Services to maintain and coordinate Service Risk Profiles, ensuring effective risk and performance reporting, alignment with the Corporate Risk Profile, and compliance with the Council’s Risk Management Policy and Strategy.
- Coordinating outcomes, performance data and analysis to support the preparation of the Council’s Annual Performance Report, Improvement Plans and other key strategies linked to Council priorities.
- Facilitating the collection, validation and analysis of performance information for external bodies including Audit Scotland, the Scottish Government and the Improvement Service (LGBF), liaising with staff across the Council and partner organisations where required.

Skills & Experience Requiredn
- n
- Experience of supporting and advising staff at all levels, including senior managers, on key business areas such as planning, performance, and risk management.
- Knowledge of performance management frameworks and risk management principles and practice, including the development and maintenance of risk registers.
- Strong analytical and communication skills to support preparing, analysing and presenting complex information in clear and concise reports and presentations for a range of audiences.
- You will have a relevant HND/Degree in a business related subject or evidence of equivalent knowledge and experience gained through relevant work.
- Demonstrable ability and confidence in the use of Power BI dashboards and corporate management systems to support performance and risk management.
- You will be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, contributing positively to team and service objectives while managing your own workload in a pressurised environment.
