Overview

In this role you will lead privacy and information governance insights for Gartner’s Corporate Assurance Practice, advising General Counsel and assurance leaders at large organizations. You will develop provocative, must-have content and act as a trusted advisor through client conversations, presentations, and Gartner events. You will collaborate across Legal, IT, Data & Analytics, and Cybersecurity to shape a forward-looking privacy program strategy. This is an opportunity to influence clients’ privacy programs and data governance at scale while advancing Gartner’s thought leadership in AI governance and data ethics.

Responsibilities

  • Create innovative, highly leveraged insights content for privacy and information governance
  • Develop actionable approaches addressing client needs to accelerate decision-making
  • Serve as leading authority on privacy topics (GDPR, CCPA, DPIAs, data mapping, consent management, subject rights)
  • Stay abreast of trends in privacy, AI governance, and related areas
  • Collaborate with Legal, IT, Finance to align positions and evaluate vendors
  • Develop content on emerging topics like AI governance
  • Analyze client barriers, reframe strategies, and drive impact
  • Provide sales support and act as voice of market to grow client engagement
  • Mentor junior team members and support team knowledge sharing
  • Deliver high-quality presentations for Gartner events and client briefings
  • Create and review high-value content with peers to ensure quality and relevance
  • Identify process improvements to enhance service delivery
  • Represent Gartner research methodology effectively to clients and stakeholders
  • Travel up to 25% (as applicable)

Key requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; JD degree preferred
  • 10+ years in privacy, information governance, or in-house legal with privacy focus
  • Experience leading privacy risk management and cross-functional governance efforts
  • Executive presence with ability to credibly engage executives
  • Experience with AI governance highly desirable
  • Strong organizational, research, and writing skills
  • Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to explain complex concepts clearly
  • Analytical skills to apply patterns and defend conclusions to client challenges
  • Subject matter expertise in privacy programs, data mapping, DPIAs, data transfers
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate across a global matrix
