Overview
In this Planning Manager role within Mace’s Mobility team, you will support the planning, scheduling and monitoring of projects and tenders for a Port Expansion initiative in Immingham. You will split time on site (2–3 days/week) and work to uphold safety, quality, cost, and sustainability standards while aligning delivery with the project vision. You’ll collaborate with senior stakeholders, manage key assignments, and help shape long-term planning strategy across the function. This position offers the chance to influence large-scale infrastructure outcomes, foster inclusive teams, and work within Mace’s values-driven culture.
Responsibilities
- Advocate Safety First and uphold safety, quality, cost, programme, sustainability and compliance standards
- Plan, schedule, and monitor projects and tenders to ensure effective delivery
- Lead and manage delivery of key assignments with strategic direction
- Support planning performance for engines/sectors/hubs and contribute to broader company goals
- Assist senior management in negotiations, contract development and due diligence
- Contribute to long-term planning strategy for the function or business unit
- Foster knowledge sharing within project teams and with stakeholders
- Network, innovate, and apply best practice using Mace group resources
- Develop and maintain effective communication with client and stakeholders
Key requirements
- Membership of professional bodies (APM, RICS, CIOB, ICE, AACE, IRM, IEMA or equivalent)
- Extensive experience in planning projects and programmes in the infrastructure sector
- Strong commercial and financial acumen
- Leadership and management experience with large, diverse teams
- Experience managing relationships with senior stakeholders
- Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape projects
- Strong Primavera P6 experience
