Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Advisor to join a leading organisation in the UK energy sector, supporting ongoing warehousing and logistics operations. This role is pivotal in maintaining high safety standards across a highly regulated site, working as part of a team committed to safety excellence and zero harm. The successful candidate will provide expert advice, conduct risk assessments, and promote a culture of safety throughout the project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical health and safety advice and support to project management and site teams.
  • Conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments in line with legislative requirements.
  • Support the development and implementation of health and safety programmes and initiatives.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents, producing reports and recommending improvements.
  • Deliver safety training, briefings, and behavioural safety conversations with contractors and personnel.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to embed safety best practices and monitor safety performance.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, including CDM regulations, and support constructability, maintainability, and operability reviews.
  • Promote a positive safety culture and increase awareness of health, safety, and environmental issues across the site.

Requirements / Experience

  • Significant HSE experience within a large-scale project environment.
  • Proven track record delivering safety improvements on engineering or construction projects.
  • NEBOSH HSE Diploma or European equivalent, or Tech IOSH qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation, including CDM regulations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to analyse complex safety issues and implement pragmatic solutions.
  • Experience conducting audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
  • Knowledge of logistics and warehousing safety considerations is desirable.

Desirable

  • Experience working within the UK energy or infrastructure sectors.
  • Familiarity with safety management systems and behavioural safety strategies.
  • Ability to support safety training and promote best practices effectively.

  • In line with industry standards, candidates must meet organisational compliance requirements to operate on a regulated site.
