Overview

As part of the London Cundall VT team, you will survey and assess lifts and escalators, develop specifications, and manage project delivery while acting as CDM Principal Designer. You’ll advise clients, attend design meetings, and support maintenance and refurbishment projects within a multidisciplinary design context. The role combines client leadership with specialist VT expertise in a central London setting, with strong CPD support to advance toward Chartered status.

Responsibilities

  • conduct site surveys and assessments of existing lifts and VT equipment
  • prepare reports and develop technical specifications
  • manage and monitor project delivery for clients
  • act as CDM Principal Designer on projects
  • represent Cundall in client interactions and meetings
  • provide VT guidance to clients, architects, and engineers on new, refurbishment, and maintenance works

Key requirements

  • experience in the lift and escalator field is essential
  • driving licence is essential
  • lone working and safe working on lifts is required
  • MS Word and Excel proficiency is essential
  • Microsoft 365 familiarity is required
  • experience in lift consultancy or maintenance contract management is essential
  • NVQ3 or NVQ4 preferred; EOR202 or equivalent experience will be considered
  • a degree in engineering is desirable but not essential
  • AutoCAD, Bluebeam, SharePoint 365, Elevate experience is desirable but not essential
  • client-facing and relationship-building
  • ability to lead client interactions and take responsibility for delivering service
  • strong communication and report-writing skills
