Financial Controller

Overview

In this role you will drive the UK close process, reporting, and compliance within a growing construction business. You will lead the local Finance team, partner with regional managers, and ensure UK GAAP/IFRS alignment while supporting group consolidation and audits. The position offers a competitive package and a mix of strategic and hands-on responsibilities with ERP optimisation. You will shape financial controls and processes to sustain growth and accurate financial statements.

• competitive salary 75,000 – 85,000
• bonus up to 15%
• 3 remote working days per week

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly, quarterly and annual close for all UK entities
• Lead and develop the local Finance team
• Ensure UK GAAP (FRS 102) and IFRS compliance
• Prepare and submit group reporting packages with data quality and IFRS adjustments
• Coordinate external audit and timely delivery of audited statutory financial statements
• Coordinate transfer pricing documentation with Group Tax Manager
• Implement and maintain internal controls
• Manage bank relationships and UK corporate registrations
• Act as finance business partner for Regional Managers
• Manage analytical accounting and reporting for projects and contracts
• Define and monitor cash forecasts with local managers and Group Treasury
• Drive process improvement and ERP optimisation

Key requirements

• Fully qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA with 3-5 years PQE
• Experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, Construction, Energy, Retail or FMCG
• Currently operating as a technical Senior Finance Manager or Financial Controller
• Knowledge of consolidation and reporting tools
• Working knowledge of IFRS
• Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Power Query/database, Power BI and automated dashboards
