Overview

In this Principal Mechanical Engineer role, you contribute to Stantec’s Energy & Resources team by leading mechanical design across a range of energy and waste projects. You will guide projects from optioneering to detailed design and installation, collaborating with clients and partners to deliver project-wide solutions. You’ll engage in feasibility studies, site surveys, and technical specifications across multiple technologies. Responsibilities

  • Lead optioneering, detailed design and installation across diverse energy and waste projects
  • Conduct feasibility studies, site surveys, and investigations
  • Develop designs and project-wide solutions in collaboration with clients and team
  • Create specifications and scoping documents for construction packages and assess vendor designs
  • Produce General Arrangement Drawings, 3D models, and P&ID updates for projects

Key requirements

  • Experience in Mechanical Engineering or related field with energy/power or process plant exposure
  • Chartered status or working towards chartered status
  • Ability to develop technical specifications, reports, and schedules across multiple technologies (steam, piping, hydrogen, biomass, EfW)
  • Proficient in design outputs (GA drawings, 3D models, P&IDs) and ability to communicate technical updates to clients and team
