Associate Cost Manager – Infrastructure

Overview

In this Associate Cost Manager/Commercial Manager role, you will apply cost management expertise to major infrastructure projects. You will foster strong client and stakeholder relationships, administer contracts, and monitor and forecast costs to keep delivery within budget. You’ll lead contract change, support value engineering, and drive accurate forecasts and final accounts. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve programme KPIs and governance, contributing to Turner & Townsend’s reputation in infrastructure cost management. This is a visible role within a global consultancy shaping high-impact projects.

Responsibilities

• Establish professional relationships with clients and project teams
• Administer contracts in line with project objectives
• Provide cost monitoring, forecasting and reporting to budget
• Monitor cost variance and contract cash flow; ensure timely applications
• Collaborate with client and contractor teams on deliverables, KPIs, and objectives
• Lead contract change management and governance adherence
• Improve forecast and budget accuracy
• Provide commercial support to stakeholders and negotiate final accounts
• Lead people and commissions as needed

Key requirements

• Proven cost/commercial management experience
• MRICS (preferred)
• NEC3 contracts knowledge (Option C – Target Cost)
• Post contract administration experience
• Experience on major programmes and projects
• Infrastructure project experience (rail, air, marine/ports, utilities, highways)
• Experience in leading and managing teams
