Overview

In this role you will manage a varied portfolio of high-value residential property matters in Bournemouth, handling complex conveyancing from instruction to post-completion. You will lead and mentor junior fee earners while supporting business development and department growth. The position combines technical property law work with client-facing responsibilities and adherence to regulatory standards. You will work with a high-performing team to deliver top-quality outcomes and contribute to the firm’s market presence. Responsibilities

  • Manage a full caseload of residential property matters, including high-value transactions
  • Handle complex transactions with minimal supervision and meet billing targets
  • Draft and negotiate legal documentation
  • Conduct Land Registry and post-completion formalities
  • Provide guidance, mentoring and supervision to junior fee earners
  • Carry out legal research and stay updated on changes in law
  • Maintain files per SRA, Law Society Conveyancing Protocol, CQS, LEXCEL and internal procedures
  • Maintain clear client and third-party communication
  • Assist with billing, financial administration and business development
  • Contribute to marketing activity and content creation for internal/external publication
  • Open, close and archive files according to firm procedures

Key requirements

  • 10+ years’ PQE or equivalent residential conveyancing experience
  • Extensive knowledge of residential conveyancing processes and property law
  • Strong understanding of the Bournemouth and Dorset property market
  • Excellent organisational and caseload management skills
  • Strong leadership, mentoring and supervisory abilities
  • Exceptional client care and communication skills
  • Strong drafting, negotiation and technical legal skills
  • Commercial awareness and ability to support business development
