VP, Senior Backend Developer – Blockchain Infrastructure

Overview

As a Senior Backend Engineer at Galaxy Digital, you design and own backend systems powering blockchain infrastructure and staking products. You will shape architecture for Ethereum data pipelines, validator infrastructure, and Liquid Collective, operating in a spec-first, AI-assisted workflow. You collaborate across protocol, product, and infra teams, mentor others, and raise engineering quality. Your work enables scalable, observable systems that support Galaxy’s crypto ecosystem and data-center initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Build and own backend systems and APIs, including Ethereum data pipelines and indexers and staking infrastructure integrations
• Design end-to-end system architecture, testing, deployment, and observability
• Integrate with Ethereum execution and consensus layer clients
• Contribute to Liquid Collective and other staking/blockchain projects across Galaxy
• Set engineering standards for API design, testing, reliability, security, and key management
• Translate product/protocol requirements into technical specs in a spec-first environment
• Collaborate across protocol, product, and infrastructure teams; mentor engineers
• Adopt and promote AI-assisted development workflows to improve productivity and outcomes

Key requirements

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong backend experience in Golang
• Deep understanding of distributed systems
• Experience with blockchain systems, preferably Ethereum (execution vs consensus layers, node operation, data flow)
• Cloud-native infra experience (AWS, Kubernetes, Helm, GitOps e.g., Flux)
• Strong testing practices for complex/stateful systems
• Experience working in remote, asynchronous teams
