Legal Secretary – Conveyancing
Bristol | Office Based | Up to circa £30,000
TSR Legal are delighted to be recruiting for a Legal Secretary to join a well-established and highly regarded law firm in Bristol, supporting a busy Conveyancing team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Legal Secretary with previous property or conveyancing experience to join a supportive team and provide an important role in the smooth progression of residential property transactions.
You will work closely with Solicitors and Fee Earners, providing day-to-day legal secretarial and administrative support while also liaising with clients, estate agents, lenders and other third parties.
The Role
The successful candidate will provide comprehensive support throughout the conveyancing process, helping fee earners to manage their caseloads effectively and ensuring clients receive a professional and responsive service.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing day-to-day secretarial and administrative support to Conveyancing Solicitors
- Preparing and formatting legal correspondence and documentation
- Opening new files and assisting with client onboarding and compliance
- Liaising with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders and other third parties
- Ordering and chasing property searches
- Assisting with the preparation of contract packs and conveyancing documentation
- Supporting Solicitors with the progression of sales and purchases
- Managing incoming correspondence, emails and telephone enquiries
- Diary management and monitoring key dates and deadlines
- Assisting with exchange and completion requirements
- Preparing completion statements and other relevant documentation
- Assisting with SDLT and Land Registry matters
- Supporting with post-completion administration and file closure
- Maintaining accurate electronic files and case management records
- Providing general administrative support to the wider property team
About You
The ideal candidate will have previous experience within a legal environment, with residential conveyancing experience highly desirable.
You will be:
- Organised and able to manage multiple priorities
- Confident communicating with clients and third parties
- Professional and client-focused
- Accurate with excellent attention to detail
- Comfortable working to deadlines within a busy property environment
- A strong team player who is happy to support colleagues
- Confident using Microsoft Office and legal case management systems
- Familiar with the conveyancing process from instruction through to completion
