Senior Full Stack Engineer (Java + React)

Overview

In this role you will contribute to a multi-year transformation to modernize Prime Finance Equities platforms. You’ll build full-stack, cloud-native, event-driven trading and post-trade systems, working in a production-focused environment. You will collaborate with stakeholders to deliver real-time, client-facing features and mentor peers while upholding engineering excellence. This is a hands-on opportunity to shape scalable architectures in capital markets and drive impactful, production-ready solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and support full-stack solutions across frontend and backend
• Build and enhance event-driven trading and post-trade applications
• Contribute to architecture and technical design decisions
• Develop responsive real-time user interfaces for equities platforms
• Implement and maintain APIs, messaging integrations, and backend services
• Ensure high code quality through Test-Driven Development (TDD)
• Participate in CI/CD practices, trunk-based development, and frequent production releases
• Troubleshoot production issues and maintain data integrity in complex market environments
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product teams, and engineering peers
• Apply capital markets domain expertise to solve business and technical problems
• Mentor team members and contribute to engineering best practices

Key requirements

• 7+ years of Java development experience
• 2+ years of frontend development experience with React and/or Angular
• Hands-on experience in capital markets, including trade lifecycle and position management
• Kotlin experience is preferable or willingness to learn Kotlin
• Strong JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS skills
• Proven experience designing and developing event-driven distributed systems
• Hands-on experience with messaging patterns, event processing, resiliency, and failure handling
• Strong TDD practices and end-to-end ownership of software quality
• Experience with Agile environments, CI/CD, trunk-based development, and frequent production releases
• Experience building real-time applications using WebSockets or streaming technologies
• Ability to contribute to architectural discussions and operate independently in complex production environments
